I think this class will be fun, Petunia thinks as she gets up from the
desk and stretches. She gathers up her notes, tidies up and is leaving as the next proffessor arrives. They
exchange greetings and some appropriate small talk and then Petunia goes out the front door and circles the
house to her deck and apartment.
So, supper with Prof Bolo, Martha and May. Prof Bolo is bringing a new
faculty member and her family for a tour of the property. Prof Bolo will stay for supper as he does
frequently. And Martha and May, the neighbouring sisters had, at some point become regular companions for
these dinners, bringing wonderful cullinary creations from the plants in their gardens and
greenhouse.
Petunia met May and Martha shortly after she moved into the old
farmhouse to become the caretaker of the newly purchased university property. She had stopped in front of
their yard to admire a blooming bush she had never seen before. She got out of the car to look more closely
at the blooms, leaves and stems. That was when Martha came out the door and Petunia felt as if she was
getting enclosed in a welcoming embrace.
The beautiful older woman gave Petunia a tour of the property with its
stately house, extensive gardens, combined shed and greenhouse and the beautiful guest house and attatched
studio tucked among some mature trees aways from the main house. Petunia felt very comfortable with Martha
and soon they were chatting away like good familiar friends.
Petunia declined an offer for tea but accepted the dinner invitation
for the weekend Rob arrived home from college for the summer. She chuckles delightedly at the
memory.
Rob had walked her home and they had parted casually enough without
touching one another, but both had felt the sparks between their energy fields.
But, equally significant and more relevant to her job as project
manager of the land, Martha had offerred to introduce her to the ancestors, that were interested in the
health of this land and it's destiny. Petunia did not have any personal farming ancestors. Her families had a
long history of being schoolteachers, musicians, writers and performers and small business owners, all
employments possible only in densely populated areas.
May said, grinning wickedly, "well, but then, of course, that is what
the ancestors meant by offering to expand their influence. Oh, let Martha introduce them to you!
:)"
That had lead to a delightful afternoon of Martha channelling the
ancestors. They were all quite charming and witty and happy to be introduced to Petunia and to have her
support in their engagement with the land. There is a Dutch farmer, a Native Elder and an Irishman. In fact,
they all felt familiar to Petunia, as if she had already become aware of them. That just made it more fun to
watch Martha's spirited performance, as she chanelled the ancestors, taking on their voices and mannerisms.
Petunia now has a much better visual picture of what they look like and greatly clarified mental rapport with
them. She realizes that they had all been present all along, no doubt generating the ideas that came to her
concerning the caretaking of the plants and this land.
Spirit beings are so amazing, Petunia
reflects.
She is aware of some Alien Healers that are working with the wild
world of this area, as well. There are about 20 acres of cultivated land around the house. The rest of the
250 acre property has been pretty much left to itself, with the exeption of logging and hunting over the
years. The property backs onto crown land forest. The Native Elder ancestor spirit is from a tribe that lived
here, many years ago, the Irish ancestor was the first non-native person to get a landholder's deed to own
this land.
